Liberal Arts Education Processes and Practices
  • What Organisational Processes within Liberal Arts Institutions Enable Students to Make Sustainable Impacts?

Twenty-first century universities, almost by their nature, are globalising institutions, wedded as they are to ideals of academic and social exchange and mobility. As such, they bear particular responsibilities in engaging with the challenges of sustainable practices. We can best support our students in generating sustainable impacts by making this goal a priority for the university as a whole, and by placing environmental sustainability at the core of what we do – similar to how we prioritise financial sustainability and academic merit, for example. At DKU, our student sustainability efforts span the entire campus and serve as exemplars for many of our institutional initiatives.
